E.G. and I.E.

It seems to be a common misconception that I.E. means "In Example." It doesn't.

I.E. is from the Latin id est, which translates to "that is."

E.G. is the equivalent of "for the sake of example."

You forgot to note that e.g. stands for "exempli gratia"
